  • A studio assistant (or dedicated adult helper) is required for all Junior Pop Party bookings.

Their role is to help coordinate the group, keep everyone engaged, and make sure each child gets an opportunity to participate in the recording session. While the music producer focuses on producing the music and guiding the singers, the studio assistant helps manage the flow of the party and supports any children who may be feeling shy or excited.

Many groups choose to nominate a parent, family member, or another adult attending the party to fill this role.

If you'd prefer a completely hands-off experience, Get Popped can provide a studio assistant for a flat fee of $100.

All Get Popped staff are police checked and experienced working with young people.

The song

  • Most of our guests have never stepped inside a recording studio before!

Get Popped is designed to be fun, supportive, and enjoyable for everyone, whether you're a confident performer or someone who usually saves their singing for the shower.

  • We have a curated song list for you to choose from. This will be emailed to you after your booking has been confirmed.

These songs have been carefully selected to ensure your recording session is fun, achievable, and sounds great when mixed together.

If there's a song you've got your heart set on that's not on the list, get in touch and we'll see whether it's suitable for the recording experience.

  • Get Popped is designed around recording cover songs from our approved song list.

This helps us ensure every group has a fantastic experience and receives a polished final recording.

  • We'll send you our song list once your booking has been confirmed.

Please let us know your final song selection at least 7 days before your booking so we can prepare everything in advance.

  • Tracks are licensed for personal use only and cannot be uploaded to streaming platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, or other commercial music services.

When sharing on social media, please ensure you comply with the platform's music licensing terms and conditions.

Your session

  • No preparation is required. Simply turn up ready to have fun.

We recommend letting all of your guests know the selected song prior to your booking. However, words will be provided so it’s not necessary to have the song memorised.

We'll take care of all the technical details and guide you through the entire experience step-by-step.

  • Every Get Popped session is slightly different, but most follow a similar format.

We'll start by introducing everyone to the recording process and getting comfortable in the studio. Each person will have an opportunity to record, beginning with shorter turns before moving into longer sections as confidence grows.

Depending on the package and available time, we'll also aim to record some full-group moments.

There will be occasional breaks while Dan works his magic. At the end of the session, you'll get to listen back to a rough version of your track before Dan completes the final vocal production.

To keep sessions running smoothly, all backing tracks are prepared before the day, allowing us to focus on capturing great performances and having fun.

  • That's totally fine. Guests are welcome to participate as much or as little as they'd like. Some people love being front and centre, while others prefer to cheer on their friends and enjoy the experience from the sidelines.

Dan is an expert at helping everyone feel included to a level they’re comfortable with.

  • Absolutely! We love seeing guests capture behind-the-scenes moments.

Feel free to take as many photos and videos as you'd like and tag us on Instagram or TikTok at @getpopped.nz.

  • Our goal is for everyone to have a great time.

Nobody will ever be forced to sing solo or do anything they're uncomfortable with.

Dan is experienced at helping people feel relaxed and confident in the studio, and we'll ease everyone into the experience at a pace that feels comfortable.

  • Get Popped is hosted in working music studios, so alcohol is not included with any package.

For Studio Party Gold bookings, complimentary non-alcoholic refreshments are provided and outside alcohol is not permitted.

Guests who upgrade to exclusive venue hire or a premium venue option may be able to bring their own alcohol, subject to venue approval and availability.

If you're planning a special celebration and would like to discuss catering or drinks, please get in touch.

  • Dan brings all the equipment required for the recording session. All he needs is:

    • Access to a standard table or desk (a dining table works perfectly)

    • Access to a power outlet

    • Enough room for the group to gather comfortably

We're experienced at working in a wide range of spaces and can usually make almost any room work.

The only thing we ask is that the recording area remains reasonably quiet while singers are recording.

Don't worry though, there will still be plenty of opportunities for laughter, cheering, and celebrating throughout the session.

Your track

  • We aim to deliver your completed recording within a few days of your session.

During busy periods this may occasionally take a little longer, but we'll keep you updated if that's the case.

  • Tracks are licensed for personal use only and cannot be uploaded to streaming platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, or other commercial music services.

When sharing on social media, please ensure you comply with the platform's music licensing terms and conditions.
